This is a photograph of me
It was taken years back ago
At first it seems to be
a lovely, beautiful
photograph: colourful and nicely framed

Then as you look precisely,
you'll see my wedding ring
Clasping hands with Joseph.
Yet, if you see his face,
you'll see his face expression
what ought to be gentle
but emotionless

In the back ground there is a creek,
and beyond that, the new house that we have bought.

( The photograph was taken
the day I married Joseph.
I am clasping hands with no emotion in my face.

It is difficult to say why
I married him, or to say
how and what made me do it:
but the force of my parents...
and his.

But if you look long enough,
eventually
you will understand the pain
and fear I have felt that day.)

This is a clever choice for your poem. I wonder what poor Mrs. Strorm has been through. I would like to see the picture if you have it saved.
