This is a photograph of me
It was taken years back ago
At first it seems to be
a lovely, beautiful
photograph: colourful and nicely framed

Then as you look precisely,
you'll see my wedding ring
Clasping hands with Joseph.
Yet, if you see his face,
you'll see his face expression
what ought to be gentle
but emotionless

In the back ground there is a creek,
and beyond that, the new house that we have bought.

( The photograph was taken
the day I married Joseph.
I am clasping hands with no emotion in my face.

It is difficult to say why
I married him, or to say
how and what made me do it:
but the force of my parents...
and his.

But if you look long enough,
eventually
you will understand the pain
and fear I have felt that day.)

God created man in his own image

And God decreed that man should have one body, one head, two arms and two legs

How dare you bring this child in a god-fearing household

God declared that each arm should be jointed in two pieces and end in one hand

Banish offences and Blasphemies!

Each hand should have four fingers and one thumb

and each finger should bear a flat finger-nail

Only the image of god is man!

Then God created woman...

According to her nature

Her voice should be of a higher pitch than a man’s

She should grow no beard

She should have two breasts

Any creature that shall seem to be human, but is not formed thus is not human

It is neither man nor woman

It is a blasphemy

Against the true image of God.

Friendship is a color wheel, happy, pretty, funny but can be turned around
and it sounds of open laughter and solemn cries
Friendship smells like fresh, home made bread right out of the oven
and it tastes of cotton candy, light and fluffy, yet sticky
Friendship looks like a rainbow after a heavy storm
and friendship is an umbrella in a ominous rainstorm
